Entrepreneur

Image
Entrepreneur, n. A person who organizes and manages a business undertaking, assuming the risk for the sake of the profit. From the french verb entreprendre, meaning "to undertake or attempt." 1755 Irish-French economist Richard Cantillon introduces the word entrepreneur in his book Essay on Nature of Trade in General , defining it as a producer with non-fixed income and uncertain returns. I totally agree with Richard. Business can be tracked long enough but still it is never certain. I love to hear your opinion below.

Back down Memory Lane

Image
It wasn't a photograph.... but a big ass sign. Lol. I remember having difficulties on my job that I had managed to stay at for nearly 2 years. (God did that) Because I knew I was barely making ends meet on some new bills I created. I decided to eliminate them by making some extra money selling Avon. Boy,oh, boy was that a power move - God allowed me to do. Next, not even 2 weeks after that I resigned. Let me tell you why, I've been praying and praying for what do about the problems on my job. And the answer was leave. I will take care of you. Anyway. When I saw the sign it reminded of those heavy hitter days and beginner days of my Avon business. I had signs in folks yard, flyers, and business anywhere I could get them. Cause if I didn't work, I didn't eat. Thanks for walking with me. Comment, join site, and share.

Job Hunting via Agency

Image
I stopped by a job agency this evening just to see what's the scoop. I've been self-employed for the past 5 years, so I'm a little out of the loop. This agency had specific times and days you could apply. Also, you had to have resume in hand before they even give you an application. Then after that is file you have to call in every week to update info or else your application is trashed. Is this the norm? Or this just my city? Inquiring minds want to know.

Article Review- "Why Wal-Mart is Worried About Amazon "

Image
Hello all, As I am working through my large pike of magazines this Memorial Day Weekend 2012, I came across this great article in Bloomberg Businessweek , April 2- April 8, 2012. It talks about how Amazon.com is now Wal-Mart's biggest competition. How can this online mall beat the world's largest retail chain? Easy, they are dominanting the market their in --- Online! Wal-Mart must've just got wind or just paid attention to the numbers and found out they really suck online. Only 2% of their sales come from their website. In my opinion, its because of the user interface. I am not engaged when I happen to land on their page. The articles lists their downfall or lack due to smartphones and the scanning feature. Where consumers can often find an item cheaper online by scanning the products barcode. The funny thing, Amazon.com is always listed #1. So they've hired some techies to get things up to par by offering apps and a different way to pay. The newest idea is order ...

Quaker Oatmeal Squares - Food Review

Image
I got a sample of Quaker Oatmeal Squares in mail the other day. I was excited because I love all that is free. I'm constantly posting contests, giveaways, bargains, and free stuff on my Facebook page. Anyway.  I opted to have this with my egg whites instead of my traditional Quaker Instant Oatmeal Original. If I had to describe it in one word wholesome. Tasted more like shredded wheat with brown sugar instead of the honey nut flavoring on the box. Wish it was more in the box and wish the coupon would've been on paper versus the box. Overall I will think about this cereal as an alternative to hot oatemeal in the mornings.
